Healthy snacking

I am one of those people who love snacking on food all the time. The past couple of weeks this has gotten a little out of hand and as a result I have gained a pound or two. So I need your help to find healthy and tasty snacks.

Some snacks I love are:

- Frozen grapes - I just rediscovered these again the other day. So yummy.
- Fruit in general makes for good snacking food in between meals.
- Yogurt - healthy and tasty.
- Low-fat desserts, such as chocolate or vanilla pudding. I particularly love the WW puddings with cream on top.

What else makes for a great dessert that is low in calories and tasty? What are your favorites?

My favorite seasonal dessert right now is preparing a package of SF FF Vanilla Pudding and adding a can of prepared pumpkin to it, season it up with pumpkin pie spice. I take 1/2 cup, crumble 1 low fat cinnamon graham cracker into it and top with a dollop of Reddi-Whip free. Tastes like pumpkin pie!

I love frozen grapes too and haven't done that in a while. Some other things I snack on, other than lots of fruit, is nuts (mainly cashews). They do contain a lot of calories, but also good fat and protein. I do make sure I measure out a serving of 1-2 oz.

A healthy dessert I like to make is some fresh strawberries with a little bit of whipped topping, drizzle of chocolate syrup (like 1-2 tsp) and maybe topped granola or healthy cereal for the crunch factor.

You could also put the strawberry/whipped topping mixture on top of a rice cake.

Thanks Nic, that sounds amazing! What is SF FF Vanilla Pudding? Prepared pumpkin is really hard to find here, I still have three cans though from when I found it at a store last year, so I may try this! I love pumpkin pie!

Kitzzy, I do love nuts as well but I end up eating the entire bag.
The strawberry dessert sounds so good! I'll have to try that sometime. I am not sure I'll be able to find strawberries here until next year though as they're out of season. But I love strawberries and it sounds amazing!

Sorry! Sugar Free/Fat Free for the pudding!

I have that same problem with nuts which is why I buy Sahale Snack Nuts ( http://sahalesnacks.com/ ) They add a ton of delicious things like little fruit bites and lots of spices. The serving is still an ounce, the Nutrition information is similar, but 1 oz feels FAR more satisfying when you have really flavorful nuts.

Thanks Nic, unfortunately I can't buy that brand here. I live in Germany. I think I'll just have to either learn how to portion snacks or stick to snacks that are prepacked into small portions.
